Evie came to us clearly malnourished & in need of some care. Based on how she looked, I expected her to be very wary of people, but she warmed up immediately & was wagging her tail & playing with toys within an hour of coming to us. She is just full of love & joy and a good measure of spunk. From day one, she was my loyal shadow, but as she got healthy & felt comfortable, she became more independent, but still stays close to the pack. Since we have been fostering, she has made best friends with the other dogs in the house & put on some healthy weight. If you want an adventure dog who is down for anything, Evie is your girl. She has been to MI, was an angel through a 12 hour car ride, road on a ferry & a horse carriage, tolerated being picked up by my nieces, slept in motels, ran along the shore of Lake Superior, went swimming & rolled with all the punches of our vacation. Evie wakes up in the morning excited for the day & ready for the next adventure. She is an excellent cuddler & an all around awesome little spirit. After a month of food, rest & some exercise, she finally ran for the first time. She is still building up strength, but her confidence is through the roof. While she isn’t super high energy, she is still young & would be best with a person/family who is up for walks, hiking & other fun things that she may not have experienced. She also loves other dogs, so Evie is great for anyone looking for an additional dog. *Evie would like to add that her likes are: ice cream, squeaky toys and belly rubs.
