Maggie is an intelligent, independent girl that loves her food and toys.  She snuggles in her crate (she needs a 42" or 48" sized crate) and is perfectly house-trained.  Maggie has never had an accident in her foster home.   She loves playing with toys, going on long walks, and playing with other dogs.  She is quite intelligent- learned the doggie door in just a few minutes. She would do best in a home with a doggie door and a fenced yard, although this isn't required.

She walks nicely on a slack leash and doesn't pull.  She is politely interested in other dogs and doesn't bark or pull when meeting them.

Maggie LOVES her food (and needs to lose 15 lbs) and doesn't like to share with other dogs.  Her foster home (which has 6 other dogs) feeds her separately so that she doesn't have to worry about other dogs trying to eat her dinner.

Maggie is too smart for her own good-- she will sneak food off of the counter or left on a low table.  Bowls, jars, spoons, plates, crackers, bread, boxes of cereal and even a rotisserie chicken -- she has taken it all.

Maggie loves being with people but at the same time, is fairly independent.  She is happy to curl up on the couch at bedtime or snuggle in her crate.  She will put herself to be on her own.  She doesn't chew on anything -- your furniture is safe!

Maggie has a bite history and should be in a home without kids (or is put away when kids are present).  It's very easy to lure Maggie to her crate with a bone and let her hang out on her own.  Maggie doesn't like to be startled and can be uncomfortable with new people until she is sure you will not hurt her.  She wants to see your hands and you have to wait until she asks for pets until she knows you.   She has never bitten her foster family of 4 humans.  Her foster mama dances with her in the kitchen and her college-aged boy carries her around like a baby.
