UPDATE 4/5/12 Now that she's heartworm free and has regained her girlish figure, Peggy Sue has a smile on her face and a spring in her step! Even on three legs, she bounces happily everywhere she goes. She has such a beautiful face and an even more beautiful personalily; she's perfectly content to lie with her head in your lap for hours or run around with you in circles at any given time. She will make a wonderful, loyal, loving companion for a very lucky family. UPDATE 2/12 Peggy Sue has completed her 2nd round of heartworm treatment and is just about ready to kick those things out the back door. :) I have to tell you that this girl is one of the most sweetest, loving, laid back (did I mention quiet) dogs we have fostered in a long time. She is our "diamond in the rough" If you are just looking for someone to adore you and be your couch partner at movie time, this girl is for you.... UPDATE 11/17/11 Peggy Sue is about done with this puppy thing. :) We're starting to help her dry up and get her girly figure back. She did test positive for heartworms so we'll begin that treatment soon and then have her spayed. She will be available for a "foster to adopt" during this time. Peggy is a great girl and will make someone a wonderful family pet! 10-14-11 Meet Peggy Sue. She was a stray that came in to animal control in Wayne County VERY pregnant. She appears to be a mix of a fox or walker hound, medium sized. She is missing part of one of her back legs, not sure if she was born that way or if it were due to an accident. She gets around fine but it's awful hard carrying around all that baby weight on 3 legs :( Peggy Sue seems to be a great girl and we believe she will be a wonderful momma to her pups once they are born. We will post updates here on her and her pups once she delivers so stay tuned. If you'd like to give this loving girl a forever home once she's done being a momma please go ahead and submit your application and we can get you pre-approved for her! Update: wee hours of 10-22 Peggy Sue gave birth to 8 healthy pups - 5 girls and 3 boys. Coming soon to our website!! More about Peggy SueGood with Dogs, Good with Kids
