"The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return."

Hansel takes these words to heart. He is one of the most affectionate dogs his foster family has ever known and will do anything for a belly rub and a kind word. While Hansel loves his foster family, he deserves a forever family of his own. Hansel does well with other dogs and enjoys the company of his furry foster siblings as well. He would love to have a canine companion in his forever home, especially if she is a laidback female dog (he has a way with the ladies). He has also started learning to be the best dog he can be with reward-based training. Hansel has thrived with the opportunity to work for treats and is not only a happy dog but a more confident dog who loves to train. He has excellent potential and would enjoy a home with a person who is willing to take his talent and run with it by taking classes and learning tricks. At about 35 lbs. he is a great "smedium" size, which is perfect for outings. Hansel has been practicing visiting outdoor cafes and dog-friendly shops with his foster and often receives compliments on his behavior while out and about. After a fun day learning something new, practicing his manners while shopping or dining out, or just playing in the yard, Hansel loves to unwind by watching tv on the couch with his humans. You see, Hansel requires a nightly snuggle session before heading to bed. He sleeps through the night and waits quietly on his bed for his foster family to wake up and start the day in the morning. If it's not too early (he needs his beauty rest) he'll greet the day with the same happy dance he uses when his fosters return home from work. Hansel is crate trained and house trained and enjoys having the benefits of a fenced yard to explore and run around.
